Students should be able to explore and perform characters using skills learned in class.  They will be introduced to basic acting skills using different techniques.  We will attempt to develop relaxation, body awareness, as well as observation and imagination skills.

Instructor Tim’s classes emphasize on wheel throwing for all skill levels but if the wheel is not for you, then we have many options! Clay slab building, Extruder built or just plain Hand building. Students will always learn about Raku firing. Tim’s classes are not constrained to a class plan rather he guides the students to work on the projects that they choose.

Exploring Clay, 8-weeks, L

Beginner to advanced students. Projects will involve hand building, using either a slab roller, extruder or hand work combinations. Also, lessons include the use of the wheels. You will be taught projects to get started, and then you are also free to develop more independent projects with guidance from the instructor. You are welcome to come and have fun exploring clay and its unlimited possibilities. Instruction in our range of glazes and how to use them is part of the class.

Sculpture for Play, 8 weeks, L

Students will experiment and explore different media in sculpture, working alternately with realism based forms and with abstracted forms. They will work with three different media in the first short then longer sessions. At least 6 different sculptures are possible.

Get Your Feet Wet! Beginner Class 5-weeks, B

Come get to know clay! This 5-week class will introduce you to all things ceramic. The focus will be on getting acquainted with the wheel and some hand building. You will walk away with a broad sampling of what clay has to offer and our bet is you’ll be left wanting more! This is a great course for someone who is new to ceramics and wants to try it all. This class is intended for beginners but continuing students are welcome.

Come and enjoy the magic of working in clay. Discover the possibilities of this plastic-pliable medium. Why Wabi-Sabi? Because the forms do not have to be perfect to love them!
